Discipleship levels

Discipleship Materials

  • Disciple Making Movements (DMM) and Church Planting Movements (CPM & T4T) page of the wiki provides helps in growing disciples particularly in group contexts.
  • New Life in Christ > The New Life In Christ discipleship manuals were designed to help Christians grow. The lessons will help new believers take their first steps towards victory in their Christian life. The original volume was written in Spanish, and later translated into English, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, German, Tagalog, and several other languages. Recommended by Craig Nordgren.

D-House (Discipleship House) in SEND International

    • Guide interns through the complexities of daily life in another culture — shopping, making meals, communicating, moving around the city.
    • Help interns understand and evaluate Japanese culture — a skill essential for contextualizing the gospel, making disciples and starting reproducing churches. Exploration of Japanese culture will include observation, reading and interviews.
    • Give interns opportunities to put their cultural knowledge into practice as they partner with other missionaries or local believers to reach out to unsaved people in Japan. As ministries are chosen, consideration will be given to an intern’s desires, gifts and abilities, as well as to any academic requirements.

Three resources that I have used and recommend for discipleship:

1) Discipleship Essentials: A Guide to Building Your Life in Christ (Greg Ogden)
2) Transforming Discipleship (Greg Ogden)
3) Banding Together: A Practical Guide for Disciple Makers Leader's Guide

Transforming Discipleship looks at the ministries of Jesus and Paul in order to ask the question, "how should one make disciples?" This is a book about forming a disciple-making paradigm.

Discipleship Essentials is a tool for taking a small group (3-4) of people through a number of theological and scriptural concepts. It is a tool based on Ogden's Transforming Discipleship.

Banding Together looks back at the disciple-making "bands" of John Wesley. Its main goal is to get people into the scriptures daily, journaling, and applying the scriptures.

All of these can be found on amazon.com

Good suggestions, Jack. I felt sure that the Ogden materials which we have fruitfully used in NCE were listed there, but you are correct, they are not...yet. Thanks!
